Excuse the Disney bust out, but this cake collection I have is giving treasure trove vibes.
It’s a dinglehopper!
God only knows what I have collected or how many multiples of things I have hidden away in here, I probably do have a few dinglehoppers - who knows?!
To be honest, I've been putting off decluttering my extensive collection of cake decorating tools for years , but I finally took the plunge last weekend and tackled my 15-year stash! Yes, FIFTEEN YEARS worth of goodies.
A floundering mess?
Actually no, while there is a tonne of items just floating around, and contrary to what you might expect, my "cake room" has always been meticulously organized thanks to my Virgo tendencies. Everything is neatly labeled and perfectly sectioned—my version of therapy for those 1am tool hunts (if you know, you know!).
As I sifted through my collection, memories came flooding back. Is it weird that I can recall exactly which cake each tool was bought for? These tools are more than just utensils; they're a part of my journey as a cake artist.
I’ve even custom made my own tools!
My journey started with Cupcakes by Lolli, my original business name, I amassed tons of cutters and molds during my cupcake phase. Fast forward to today, and my preferences lean towards sculpted and hand-painted cakes. Those cupcake tools? They deserve a new home where they'll be used and appreciated.
